With the proper permit, golf carts and other qualified non-highway vehicles may be driven within subdivisions that have been approved by their HOA and The Village of Wonder Lake Board of Trustees. Signs are required at all the entrances and must be purchased through the Village Hall.

Since our subdivision has been approved, golf cart drivers would need to fill out a permit application and drop it off or mail it with your $50.00 non-refundable check to: Village of Wonder Lake Police Department, 4444 Thompson Rd., Wonder Lake, IL 60097. Once received, you will be contacted to schedule your inspection. Please note that the permits expire on Dec. 31, 2022. Permits need to be renewed yearly.

You must be 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. Your non-highway vehicle must meet all requirements set forth in village ordinance 465 and it must pass the mandatory annual inspection.

Current Golf Cart Communities are: Sunrise Ridge, White Oaks Bay, Woods Creek, Sunrise Ridge Estates, and Shore Hill Country Club.
