Saturday, June 1, 2019, began with rain, wind, and storms and the day didn’t seem to hold much promise for our Park Beautification Event! However, thanks to a hearty group of volunteers that braved the awful weather, our Park is now much more beautiful as well as safer than ever before! Many of the same volunteers also returned on Sunday to continue working and others joined them that couldn’t participate on Saturday!
Because of these wonderful people, trees were trimmed, the beach was raked and leveled, leaves, branches, and other litter were raked and hauled away, the benches were colorfully painted with two coats, tables were dismantled and rotten boards were painted and replaced, new concrete was poured for the volleyball posts, post uprights on the volleyball area as well as the information sign were painted, the buoys were cleaned and arranged for safe swimming, and the water near the shoreline was cleared of accumulated debris! Additionally, those that attended were able to get their new keys for the boat gate!
All of us who live in Shore Hills Subdivision would like to heartily thank all of the volunteers that participated in making our 1st Annual Park Beautification Event so extremely successful!
